Each recipient gets their own link and passcode
Select the frames and make an export, a ZIP of what you picked. Add recipients by email. Each one gets a private link, and a passcode in a separate email, so a forwarded link alone does not open the files. Recipients do not need an account. They open the link, type the passcode, and download the ZIP.
An export holds whatever you selected, so filter to approved first if only cleared frames should go.
See who downloaded, and when
Every shared export lists its recipients with a download count and the time of the last download. When an editor asks whether the agency got the stills, you look it up. If a link went to the wrong person, remove that recipient, or turn sharing off for the whole export. Files already downloaded stay on that person's device.
Downloads are logged: count and last time, by email address. Views and opens are not tracked, and the passcode email tells each recipient their downloads are logged. Turning sharing off, issuing a new link and passcode, and removing a recipient are limited to the person who made the export. Each download also appears in the project activity feed.
Send images without their metadata
By default an export keeps the credit and copyright embedded in each file. Switch Strip metadata on and it removes IPTC, XMP, GPS and camera info, credit line included. The color profile and orientation stay. It works on images only and is off by default. Stripping runs in the background, and you get an email when the export is ready.

That request means finding the right images, packaging them and sending a link. Select images, create an export, share it, and see who downloaded it.
Creating an export
Start from any view in your project. Select images from the grid, or filter by tags and collections to build your selection. Filter to approved first if only cleared images should go out.
Click Download and choose your formats. You can download now, or choose Background export and it is prepared for you and emailed when it's ready.
Sharing exports
Add recipients by email. Click Share on the export and add their addresses. Recipients don't need a ReelStorage account.
- Their own link: each recipient gets a private link
- Passcode: each recipient gets their own passcode in a separate email, so a forwarded link alone doesn't open the files
- Expiry: links expire 7 days after the export is made
- Resend or remove: resend the emails, or the person who made the export can remove a recipient without affecting anyone else
Recipients click the link, enter their passcode, and download the ZIP.
Delivery tracking
Every shared export shows, for each recipient:
- Download count
- Last download time
When an editor asks whether a bureau downloaded the premiere photos, you can check. Each download also appears in the project activity log.
Metadata control
Exports keep the credit and copyright embedded in each file unless Strip metadata is on. When images should go out clean, turn it on for that export. It applies to images only and is off by default. It removes IPTC, XMP, GPS and camera info, credit line included, and keeps the color profile and orientation.
Managing exports over time
The Exports page in your project shows every export you've created. Each export card has Share and recipients.
Exports last 7 days.
Revoking access
Sometimes you need to pull back access. A link was sent to the wrong person. A release date moved. A talent approval was reversed.
The person who made an export can turn sharing off, and the share link stops working. They can also regenerate share credentials, which creates a new link and invalidates the old one. To cut off one person, remove that recipient.
Files already downloaded stay on the recipient's device.

- Do recipients need a ReelStorage account?
- No. Each recipient opens their own link, enters the passcode from a separate email, and downloads the ZIP.
- Can I see who downloaded an export?
- Yes. Each recipient shows a download count and the time of their last download, by email address. Views and opens are not tracked. The passcode email tells recipients their downloads are logged.
- How long do share links last?
- Exports and their links expire 7 days after the export is made. Files a recipient already downloaded stay on their device.
- Can I take access back?
